It's easy to make a terrarium to grace your desk, dining room table, or any well-lit spot.
The terrarium, or garden under glass, is a self-contained environment that produces its own climate.
Terrariums fall into two general categories:
- 1. Open: can tolerate some direct sunlight. However, too much sun may burn leaves that are in direct contact with the sides of the container.
- 2. Closed: A closed terrarium can also be an open terrarium to which a cover has been added. Closed terrariums should be placed where they will receive bright light, but no direct sunlight. If placed in direct sunlight, the temperature inside the container rises considerably and literally cooks the plants.

The workshop fee of $15 includes instruction, a glass container, soil, fertilizer, sand, gravel, and plants.
You may accessorize with our incredible selection of miniatures for purchase including furniture, houses, fences, arches, trellises, bridges, fairies, animals, ponds, plants & more.
All the supplies you’ll need to create your miniature garden will be available for you to select and purchase separately during the workshop.
Everything you need to create exceptional miniature terrarium gardens can be found at Brendens Garden Center.
Adding bridges, paths, rustic fences, garden tools and even a miniature animal or two to the terrarium garden, will delight you, your kids or grand kids.
We also have the landscape supplies including colored stones, cactus, succulents, and other miniature green leaf plants for terrarium gardens.
